Asparagus soup - From the 1881 Household Cyclopedia
Put the little grilled bone to Ace 1/2 pints of peas, and water in proportion, a root of celery, a little bunch of sweetly herbs, a big onion. Cayenne pepper, & salt to taste; boil it briskly for five hours, strain & fiber it; so add a trifle spinach juice, and asparagus boiled and dig little pieces. The teaspoon of walnut soy, and the teaspoon of mushroom catsup, answers when well as a bone.
